Tenet: New Images And Poster For Christopher Nolan’s Blockbuster

Tenet

As the viability of opening massive new blockbusters in the current state of the world remains somewhat shaky, the wait for Christopher Nolan’s much-hyped upcoming original blockbuster Tenet recently got just a little bit longer. If its move to a mid-August release date from its initial July launch is in some ways upsetting, in the meantime we have some new images from the film to look at. Warner Bros has released a bunch of fresh images from the movie, revealing more shots of its shady characters, some big ol’ explosions, and some stunningly-composed shots.

There’s a shot of John David Washington – whose lead character seems, quite literally, to be called The Protagonist – holding a teacup and saucer more nonchalantly than you or I could ever dream of.

Then there’s a pic of a massive explosion – because as much as Nolan’s films go deep on ideas, they never fail to bring the action spectacle.

Here’s a new look at Robert Pattinson’s character who – as has been pointed out – does indeed seem to be styled after Nolan himself.

And this pic, in eye-sizzling neon colours, sees Elizabeth Debicki donning breathing apparatus (never a bad idea during the pandemic) being either menaced or comforted by Kenneth Branagh.

As well as the arrival of new images, the film has a brand new poster, giving you double the John David Washington for your buck.

As it currently stands, Tenet is due to arrive in UK cinemas from 12 August – but stay tuned for updates on that front. "Warner Bros. is committed to bringing Tenet to audiences in theaters, on the big screen, when exhibitors are ready and public health officials say it’s time," a Warner Bros. spokesperson said upon the release date change. "In this moment what we need to be is flexible, and we are not treating this as a traditional movie release. We are choosing to open the movie mid-week to allow audiences to discover the film in their own time, and we plan to play longer, over an extended play period far beyond the norm, to develop a very different yet successful release strategy."
