It is a vertiable school outing for the new version of '80s teen / Cold War invasion movie Red Dawn. Joining the already announced line-upof Chris "I am Thor" Hemsworth, Josh Peck (a.k.a. the chubby one from Drake and Josh who turned into a stoner swan for The Wackness) and Legion's Adrianne Palicki are Journey To The Centre Of The Earth's Josh Hutcherson, La Beouf's scary bit on the side from Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen Isabel Lucas, son-of-Tom-and-Nicole Connor Cruise and upcoming **Young American **Edwin Hodge.

The group will become the other elements of the teen population who band together to fight an Eastern invasion of their home town. Hutcherson takes on the role of geek gadget guru Robert - first played by The Outsiders' C. Thomas Howell; while Cruise, who made his screen debut as the young version of Will Smith's character in Seven Pounds , will play his best friend and son of the town's mayor, Daryl.

Lucas takes on the 'hot cheerleader in danger' mantle as Peck's kidnapped girlfriend Erica (originally played by Back To The Future's Lea Thompson) and Hodge will play school sport's star and all-round popular kid who helps set up the uprising.

All of the cast are set to receive military training in preparation for the film which begins shooting next month in Detroit, under the watchful eye of stunt-man turned director Dan Bradley. Red Dawn is currently pencilled in as due in cinemas on September 24 2010.
