Special effects legend Patrick Tatopoulos, who has worked on a wealth of films including Se7en, Stargate, Pitch Black and Underworld, is finally stepping up to direct his first film.

Suspense-thriller Midnight Train is based on a Clive Barker short story (Midnight Meat Train) and tracks Leon, a New York photographer who tries to find a serial killer called The Subway Butcher. But what he finds is much scarier.

Jeff Buhler adapted the script and Lionsgate will co-produce with Lakeshore Entertainment. Once he’s found a cast, Tatopoulos will sit in the director’s chair this summer.
