Last month, news broke – from the sort of sources that don't often end up proved wrong – that Orphan Black's Tatiana Maslany would be playing Jennifer Walters, AKA She-Hulk in a new Marvel/Disney+ series. Yet in a new interview with the Sudbury Star, Maslany is denying that she'll be taking the role.

"That actually isn’t a real thing and it’s like a press release that’s gotten out of hand," she says when asked about the She-Hulk status. "It’s totally not — I’ve been connected to these things in the past and press has gotten onto it, but it’s not actually a thing, unfortunately."

Now, this could be an actor unable to confirm their involvement before a deal is finalised, that she's been offered the role and decided to turn it down, or that she really wasn't ever in talks to begin with. Marvel and Disney have naturally stayed quiet on the subject, but that's not shocking for the typically secretive companies. Now? We wait to see if something changes, or if someone else grabs the role instead. All we know is Mark Ruffalo may be disappointed and those pushing for Alison Brie to win the job will be happy.
