Belleville director starts Scottish studio

Sylvain Chomet, the French director behind Belleville Rendez-Vous, will be moving his creative talents to Britain and setting up an animation company in Edinburgh. Run by Sylvain and his wife Sally Chomet, Studio Django will be the vehicle by which Chomet will write, direct and produce his next animated features, following on from the success of his last, Oscar-nominated, film. Leading Studio Django's charge will be Barbacoa a bestial tale of escaped zoo animals as they make their bid fro freedom during the 1871 Paris Commune. The second film will be a 3D project that will begin pre-production in the Summer but the details for which remains under wraps.
