Remakes and gender-swapped takes on movies remain a big source of material for studios, and there's a new one headed our way. This time, Paramount is looking to make a new comedy "inspired" by Nancy Meyers' 2000 film What Women Want, this time starring Taraji P. Henson and called What Men Want.
The original starred Mel Gibson as a confident, chauvinistic womanizer who suddenly gained the ability to know what women are thinking, and it changed his attitude.
Henson will be playing a female sports agent struggling in an unfair, competitive world, who finds herself with the power to hear men's thoughts. And aside from wanting to vomit endlessly, she uses the new talent to her advantage as she aims to sign a new basketball star.
Paramount has prolific producer Will Packer (who has worked with the actress on films including the Think Like A Man entries) on board and will now look to lock down a writer and director ready for a planned January 2019 release.
Henson has a few films on the way, including Proud Mary (due 23 March), and Ralph Breaks The Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2, which will arrive on 30 November next year.
