To run before Beauty & The Beast 3D...

Tangled Getting The Short Treatment

Given that Tangled was one of the big recent successes scored by the Walt Disney Animation team, it comes as little surprise that they’d attempt to capitalise on the film’s popularity by spinning off a short film that follows the further (mis)adventures of Rapunzel (Mandy Moore) and Flynn (Zachary Levi). The result is** T****angled Ever After**, and will be shown before the 3D re-release of Beauty And The Beast.

Crafted by the original film's co-directors Nathan Greno and Byron Howard, the story apparently catches up with the couple on the eve of their wedding. But the focus will be on two even more popular characters from the movie – Pascal the chameleon and Maximus, the haughty, scene-stealing steed. The pair has been roped in to the ceremony to act as flower chameleon and ring bearer, but there’s a problem: they’ve mislaid the bling. So begins a hectic search to avoid ruining the nuptials…

Disney has reaped great returns from the likes of the Pixar shorts and the 3D release of The Lion King recently proved that there’s a healthy market for tweaked versions of its bigger ‘toons. So we’d expect more and more of this to happen.

Beauty And The Beast is back in 3D on January 20 over here.
