Michael Caine and Michael Keaton are to co-star in an action thriller called Quicksand for The Long Good Friday director John Mackenzie. Screen Daily reports that Caine will play a down-on-his-luck movie star, who is involved in dodgy dealings on the Cote d'Azur, while Keaton stars as a banker who is in the South of France investigating suspicious offshore deposits. Mackenzie has previously worked with Caine on the 1987 spy thriller The Fourth Protocol. Shooting on Quicksand will start in December in New York and France. Caine will next be seen in Quills, a drama about the life of the Marquis de Sade, while Keaton appears in Road To Glory, a film about a useless Scottish football team that stars real-life footballer Ally McCoist.
