Following in the footsteps – or rather video steps – of James Gunn, Taika Waititi hosted a live screening party on Instagram for Thor: Ragnarok. And, like Gunn, he dropped some hints of what we can expect from his next MCU entry, in this case Thor: Love And Thunder.

Waititi had Tessa Thompson and - later - Mark Ruffalo on as special guests and let loose a little bit about the movie's progress (it's still at the script stage for obvious reasons) and answered some questions.

According to the director and Thompson, the film is at the fourth or fifth draft of the scripting process, and Thompson has read the most recent draft. Waititi, meanwhile, assured fans that Thunder will not be a run-of-the-mill movie, making it sound even crazier than Ragnarok. "t’s like 10-year-olds told us what should be in a movie and we said yes to every single thing," he laughed at one point.

In answer to fan queries, he did confirm that rocky Korg will return, but despite "love" in the film's title, he won't be finding any. "He was deeply in love and lost that love along the line," Waititi said. "He doesn’t feel brave enough to find love again." We'll learn more about his culture and that Space Sharks (AKA Starsharks) from the comics will appear.

Love And Thunder welcomes Natalie Portman back into the MCU fold, and it'll see her taking on the mantle of Thor. The film was scheduled to shoot later this year, with the start date likely to shift. It also recently saw its release date moved from November 2021 to February 2022.
