The Expendables may end up having to do without him, but Sylvester Stallone appears fully committed to another action franchise. Though the Escape Plan sequel, the second film about his prison design expert, has only just finished shooting, Emmett/Furla and Oasis Films are already looking to start early work on a third.
The original, of course, saw Stallone playing Ray Breslin, who was double-crossed and locked up in one of his own slammers. With the help of Arnold Schwarzenegger's Rottmayer he managed to... well, that would be a spoiler, wouldn't it? It's not as if it's given away by the title of the film.
Nothing has been released about the second movie's plot yet, let alone the third, but writer Miles Chapman is once again providing the script, probably full of burly blokes shouting at each other. The second movie, Escape Plan 2: Hades, features the likes of Dave Bautista, Jaime King and 50 Cent, with Stephen C. Miller directing. According to Deadline, Miller will also return to make the third movie, which we're sort of hoping is called Escape Plan: Sly's Expendables Contract.
The first Escape Plan sequel should be on screens next year.
