You might think that, after writing, directing and starring in the likes of Rambo and The Expendables, Sylvester Stallone might be ready for a quieter film, perhaps one where he has to root out corruption at an old folks’ home. But we all know that’s not Sly’s style. Nope, he’s just been announced as heading up the cast for Headshot, a new action thriller.
The plot will find El Stallone as a New Orleans hit man who teams up with a New York cop after they both start investigating two nasty murders. They end up taking on all opposition for a mission that sees them journey from The Big Easy, all the way to Washington DC. We’re guessing one or two bullets will fly en route.
Wayne Kramer, who directed The Cooler, Running Scared and Crossing Over, is on board to call the shots from a script by The Messenger’s Alessandro Camon.
"Headshot is exactly the type of fast-paced, universally themed project that suits our business model. Sylvester Stallone is an international icon and we're really excited to be in business with him," Stuart Ford of backers IM Global tells The Hollywood Reporter.
Kramer will start the cameras cranking in May and the financiers are planning to sell off the distribution rights at the Berlin film festival this week, so chances are we could see this one in cinemas next year.
