With Rambo: Last Blood out in the world (and, er, not drawing all the reactions its star/writer/producer might have hoped for), Sylvester Stallone is looking to future film roles. He's now on to star in a superhero story called Samaritan.
Overlord director Julius Avery will call the shots on the film, which finds a young boy setting out to discover if a mythic hero, who vanished 20 years before following a tragic event, is still alive and kicking. Based on the first person cast in the film, we're going to hazard a guess at "yes".
Bragi F. Schut, who co-wrote horror thriller Escape Room (no, not Sly's increasingly dodgy Escape Plan franchise) is on script duty here, and Stallone will also produce via his Balboa Productions company. "Sly is a hero of mine, I’m incredibly thrilled to be working with such an iconic actor on this very special project with Balboa Productions and MGM," says Avery, who will start the cameras rolling early next year.
