Things have been quiet on the Expendables front since the third movie in 2014, but Sylvester Stallone and the action gang are ready to reload. Lionsgate has Stallone, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren and Randy Couture ready to return, with 50 Cent, Tony Jaa and Megan Fox joining the new film.
Director Scott Waugh will be marshaling the madness this time, working from a script by Spenser Cohen, Max Adams and John Joseph Connolly. The story is a secret for now, but you know it'll feature Sly and the rest on a mission, while The Hollywood Reporter has heard that Statham's Lee Christmas will take the focus this time and Fox has one of the lead roles.
This one has been in the works for a while, with different writers and directors cycling through. Now, though, Waugh is gearing up to start shooting in October and we can wait to see if other classic action stars are lined up for cameos. "It’s so much fun to bring these stars together for a no-holds-barred action film," says Lionsgate's Jason Constantine. "The new film will raise the stakes and be the biggest, most badass adventure yet."
