The idea of a Demolition Man sequel has popped up on the news radar occasionally since the release of the 1993 original, but for various reasons, nothing has surfaced yet. Now, though, Sylvester Stallone has checked in on Instagram and, in a flurry of answers to fan questions, he revealed that a sequel is once again in the early stages. You can see the full video...

For those that wish to cut to the chase, Stallone was asked if we might get "another Demo Man," and answered thus: “I think it is coming. We’re working on it right now with Warner Brothers and it’s looking fantastic, so that should come out. That’s going to happen."

Demolition Man, for those who may not have seen it, is a prime slice of Sly's 1990s action career, which saw him as officer John Spartan, sentenced to cryo-prison after some major destruction goes down while trying to take down psychotic villain Simon Phoenix (Wesley Snipes, chowing down on every possible piece of scenery). Phoenix is similarly sentenced to be frozen, but is accidentally thawed in 2032, where he creates chaos in what is, on the surface, a friendly, utopian society. So the authorities reluctantly decide to defrost Spartan, as he's the only man that can contain Phoenix.

The original co-starred Sandra Bullock, but there's no word on whether she'll return (or, indeed any element of the movie as it's still so early). Until it is officially announced, this remains floating in the realm of vaporware, but if the very idea has you getting a dodgy stomach, you might want to reach for the three shells...
