The team making Warners’ new adventure comedy Fool’s Gold – which already boasts Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson – have, until recently, been missing a piece of their puzzle: someone to play the grizzled billionaire who helps the couple on their quest for riches and glory.

But now everyone can relax, because Donald Sutherland has joined the caper, playing the man who helps the pair of near-bankrupt and almost-divorced treasure seekers by letting them use his boat.

Andy "Hitch" Tennant is busy directing the film right now, with Kenneth "You Can Count On Me" Lonergan on script duties.
