Learning more about the plot of the Super Troopers sequel might seem like an unnecessary element given that the original was so much more about the jokes and the characters than any real story. Still, the new trailer does offer a better look at what the slacker cops are up to this time.
Turns out that the sequel revolves around a small Canadian town being declared American after a boundary change, much to the horror of the residents. To rub salt into the wound, the Troopers team is drafted in to set up a new Highway Patrol station in the town, and naturally madness follows.
If you're a fan of the first film, you'll be in familiar territory here, with the usual silly wordplay, physical gags and running jokes. The Broken Lizard team, which comprises Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter, Erik Stolhanske are back writing and starring, with Chandrasekhar directing as always.
After crowd-sourcing the budget for this follow-up, they've roped in the likes of Rob Lowe, Tyler Labine and Lynda Carter for this one. Super Troopers 2 arrives in the States on 20 April, but frustratingly has yet to confirm a UK date.
