We’ve had the competition films and the various low budget/horror/comedy Midnight set announced and today it was the turn of the bigger movies that will get their first look at the Sundance Film Festival with the release of the Premieres and Documentary Premieres list, which featured films from the likes of Stephen Frears, Spike Lee, and Julie Delpy.

Frears’ latest is Bruce Willis/Rebecca Hall gambling thriller Lay The Favourite, which finds a woman getting involved with a bunch of geeky older guys who have figured out a way to beat the sportsbook system in Las Vegas. Suffice to say, it doesn’t all quite go to plan.

Lee, meanwhile, is back with Red Hook Summer, which finds a young lad meeting his grandfather for the first time and bonding with him over a Brooklyn summer. Delpy’s offering is the follow-up to her romantic comedy drama 2** Days In Paris**. This time around, in 2 Days In New York, we find Marion dealing with pregnancy and the new man in her life.

There are also such films as Goats (starring David Duchovny, Vera Farmiga and, er, some goats), financial drama Arbitrage with Richard Gere, Susan Sarandon and Tim Roth, and Celeste And Jesse Forever, a tale of a young couple who decide to get divorced but promise to stay friends while figuring out other relationships. That one features Rashida Jones (who co-wrote the script), Andy Samberg and Elijah Wood.
