The current world situation has affected many events, and the London arm of the Sundance Film Festival was unfortunately among them. The team behind the satellite fest is still planning screenings, Q&As and talks, but it'll all be online.
Now running between 7-9 August this year, Sundance Film Festival: London digital celebration will open with Uncle Frank (see the picture above), which is directed, written and produced by Alan Ball and stars Paul Bettany. Luxor, directed by Zeina Durra and starring Andrea Riseborough, will premiere on Saturday. The event will close on Sunday with Boys State, directed by Jesse Moss and Amanda McBaine and winner of the US Grand Jury Prize: Documentary at the 2020 Festival.
In addition to the main screenings, there will be a programme of short films, plus Q&As with filmmakers, speaking engagements and roundtables featuring the likes of Emerald Fennell, Julie Taymor, Romola Garai, Justin Simien and Janicza Bravo.
You'll be able to buy festival passes (£20/£14 for Picturehouse Members, Cineworld Unlimited Customers and Co//ab members), while tickets to the individual premiere screenings or the shorts programme are £5.99 each. The panel events, meanwhile, will be free. For all the details, head to the Picturehouse site or go here.
