Summit Snaps Up Untitled College Comedy

From the guys who brought us Sex Drive

Despite the fact that the teen comedy Sex Drive made a paltry $3.5 million this weekend upon its debut in America, Summit Entertainment clearly has a lot of faith in the writer-director team behind the film, Sean Anders and John Morris.

For Summit has snapped up the rights to the next comedy from the duo, an untitled college comedy about a wild and crazy guy in his sophomore year who has to knuckle down and become a father to the baby that he never knew he had, after discovering that an old flame has been killed in a car crash.

Now, if you ask us, the car crash stuff is pretty ballsy and, at first glance, an extraordinarily dark place from which to spin a broad comedy. But we’ll reserve judgement until we see the film.

Morris and Anders are currently writing the script which, as with Sex Drive, will be directed by Anders and produced by Morris.
