James Gunn and his squad from The Suicide Squad showed up (virtually) for the DC FanDome event, and the writer/director brought along a couple of treats. First up, a roll call teaser, showing who is playing which character.
Yes, now we know that aside from King Shark (Steve Agee, who was on the panel, is listed on IMDB) and whoever Taika Waititi is playing, the main cast has been revealed.
Joining Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag and Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang we have Idris Elba as Bloodsport, Michael Rooker as Savant, Flula Borg as Javelin, David Dastmalchian as Polka Dot Man, Daniela Melchior as Ratcatcher 2, Mayling Ng as Mongal, Peter Capaldi as The Thinker, Alice Braga as Sol Soria, Pete Davidson as Blackguard, Nathan Fillion as TDK, Sean Gunn as Weasel and John Cena as Peacemaker.
Also shown? A behind-the-scenes reel of making the movie, which pinpoints the tone as a '70s war movie combined with Gunn's comedic sensibilities. Gunn also kept describing the movie as the most fun he's had on set, which will come as a shock for the Guardians crew.
The Suicide Squad will be released on 6 August, 2021.
