The trailer and some images from Rod Lurie’s remake of Sam Peckinpah’s controversial 1972 home invasion thriller Straw Dogs arrived last month, but now the first full poster for the film is online, and can be viewed below.

Lurie and the marketing team have opted for an evocative take on the original movie’s iconic one-sheet (you can see it by way of comparison here), which featured Dustin Hoffman's face in close-up with one lens of his glasses shattered.

The new film, of course, sees James Marsden taking the Hoffman role of a man who moves with his wife (Kate Bosworth) to her old hometown. In this case, it’s in the Deep South, but the tensions that build between the couple and the problems from the locals (including Bosworth’s macho ex, played by True Blood’s Alexander Skarsgard) are much the same.

While the image is nearly identical, the new poster includes Skarsgard’s mug reflected in the intact portion of the glasses, likely for no other reason than he has a following. Oh, and the tagline, "Everyone has a breaking point" is also new.

With James Woods, Walton Goggins, Dominic Purcell, Laz Alonzo and Anson Mount also in the cast, the new **Straw Dogs **is out on October 28.
