Stop Hassling Meg!

It seems that, nowadays, looks and money are simply not enough to maintain a successful image as an A-list star. Everyone has the limos, the parties and the 200 foot pool but anyone who's anyone needs their own celebrity stalker too. Nicole Kidman was finally freed from the impressively barking antics of Matthew Hooker when she slapped him with a restraining order and now Meg Ryan can heave a sigh of relief as her personal psychopath is similarly bound. Ryan was awarded a three year restraining order against John Michael Hughes, a man from Florida who swears blind he's married to the actress. Logic and reason have been no deterrent to Hughes' claims of matrimony, insisting that this is all a perfectly normal spousal spat. "my wife was a little upset with an incident we had a few months ago," he told the court. Hughes was arrested last month after breaking into the house of Andrea and Thomas Ryan - absolutely no relation to the actress - in an effort to find his 'wife'. He informed police that he had been forced to break in after Meg had forgotten to leave him the key. Officers subsequently found whisky, wine a substantial sum of money and a night vision scope in Hughes' car. Quite clearly mad as the proverbial march hare, Hughes was also arrested last year for attempting to drive onto George W Bush's Texas ranch with a number of high-powered, automatic weapons. Fulfilling community service perhaps?
