We may not yet know the title of the actual film, but Steven Spielberg continues to build the cast for his next project, one loosely inspired by his own childhood. A key component has fallen into place, as newcomer Gabrielle LaBelle will play a young filmmaker.
In keeping with drawing inspiration from his own life (for what will nevertheless be an original story), Spielberg is also writing this one alongside regular collaborator Tony Kushner.
The film will feature different ages of the younger characters as the story moves along, while the main cast includes Michelle Williams, Paul Dano and Seth Rogen playing characters loosely based on Spielberg's mother, father and favourite uncle.
Spielberg aims to start shooting the film this summer with the expectation of a 2022 release.
