Edgar Wright is getting the old band back together. No, we don’t mean that Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are popping up in Ant-Man (at least, not yet). But Wright has tweeted that his The World’s End and now BAFTA-winning Gravity composer Steven Price will be back to work on the Marvel superhero film.
As the ceremony continued and Price picked up his gong, Wright tweeted his congratulations to the composer and also dropped the Ant-Man news officially.

It’s not a big surprise, since Price has collaborated with both Wright and his** Ant-Man** co-writing chum Joe Cornish on the likes of Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, Attack The Block and The World’s End. We’ve actually known he’d be working on the new Marvel effort for a few weeks now, ever since talking to Price for this interview about his work on Alfonso Cuaron's space drama. “I’ve had dinner with Edgar,” Price admitted off the record, saying that it was early days and not a done deal yet. We’ve been sworn to secrecy ever since.
Now, however, the cat is well and truly out of the bag. Here’s to another successful collaboration and some suitably superheroic work. Before Price hits the scoring stage for that, however, the Batman Begins and Lord Of The Rings veteran is in the early stages of working on a score for David Ayer’s untitled World War Two tank film. And there’s a chance he’ll be hefting an Oscar next month...
