A writer has been found for the trilogy of Tintin films being overseen by Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson. The directors will each make one of the films, with a director for the third still to be announced (our bet's still on George Lucas). Steven Moffat will write the screenplay for all three.
Moffat is best known as one of the writers on the re-invigorated Doctor Who series and the BBC's reinterpretation of the Jekyll and Hyde story, simply known as Jekyll. Both those series brought new spins to long established stories, so hopefully we can expect a similarly witty and inventive take on Herge's adventures of the little Belgian mystery solver and his cotton wool dog.
The film is set to be filmed with motion capture technology and will be simultaneously released in 3D.
