Death. Crime. Explosions. The new trailer for Widows has it all, promising a deep, dark thriller from a whole bunch of talented people. With 12 Years A Slave director Steve McQueen behind the camera, Gone Girl author Gillian Flynn on scripting duties, and the likes of Viola Davis, Liam Neeson, Colin Farrell and Daniel Kaluuya on the screen, this is absolutely one to watch.

The film, adapted from a 1980s Lynda La Plante TV drama, follows four titular widows whose husbands – a criminal gang – are all killed in a job-gone-wrong. When the men’s deaths leave angry mobsters on the widows’ paths, they team up to pull off a heist of their own in order to escape the debt. Davis leads the gang as Veronica, alongside Alice (Elizabeth Debicki), Linda (Michelle Rodriguez), and Belle (Cynthia Erivo).

The film comes to UK cinemas on 6 November, and is also set to open the BFI London Film Festival 2018 on 10 October.
