Now here's some casting that makes us very happy. Tina Fey and Steve Carell, who together could have the most amusing babies in history, have signed up to co-star in Date Night.

They'll play a married couple who head out on their regular date night, but find that it becomes, according to Variety's story, "much more than just dinner and a movie". It's not wholly clear what that means, but we're guessing there are comic misunderstandings in store, rather than simply an extra stroll around the park or some experimental, possibly dangerous, marital copulation.

The film will be directed by Shawn Levy (Night at the Museum) and is written by Josh Klausner. Levy's films have so far been rather patchy, but surely he can make something out of this pairing? Hell, we'd watch these two re-telling The Illiad through mime.
