It’s been a quiet few months for news on **The Messenger **co-writer/director Oren Moverman's Rampart, but the pace of casting has picked up again with Steve Buscemi, Sigourney Weaver, Cynthia Nixon, Anne Heche and Robin Wright all jumping aboard the crime drama.

The new casting comes courtesy of Variety, which notes that Moverman has now locked in full funding for the movie, and plans to get shooting around October 25 in Los Angeles.
Buscemi, meanwhile, will be indulging his criminal side in the new HBO show Boardwalk Empire, which has The Sopranos’ Terrence Winter in charge and Martin Scorsese producing/directing the pilot. It kicks off across the pond this coming weekend and rest assured we’ll be blogging that one…
