Stephen Susco has been making a name for himself as a writer-for-hire on the likes of The Grudge and its sequel. But he’s also been branching out into adapting thriller novels.

Lionsgate has just bought his spec script Sanctuary, which is based on John Connolly’s book Bad Men. The spooky tale sees a mysterious woman hiding out on an island off the coast of Maine that just happens to be hiding a dark supernatural secret. From the man behind the US version of The Grudge? Didn’t see that one coming.
