Neil Jordan is about to start the cameras rolling on his new thriller, The Widow. He already has some of the cast assembled, but has called in an old collaborator and a couple of new faces, as Stephen Rea, Colm Feore and Zawe Ashton are all now in the ensemble.
They join Isabelle Huppert, Chloe Grace Moretz and Maika Monroe in the film, which starts out as a good samaritan tale then morphs into something else. Moretz is playing Frances, a young woman who returns a Greta's (Huppert) purse, leading to an unlikely friendship. But as they spend more time together, Frances discovers that her new older friend might not be all that she seems...
Rea will be a private investigator who digs into Greta's intentions and life. Feore is on to play Frances' estranged father, while Ashton will be a mysterious woman who has important information about Greta's past. She's a robot! Probably not that. But we would watch that.
There's no word on when this one will see screens, but the film, written by Ray Wright, will shoot in New York.
