Stephen Norrington Seeks Lost Patrol

Last we heard from Stephen Norrington he was preparing a reboot of The Crow. But it looks like that'll have to wait, as it's just been announced that he'll be re-writing and directing The Lost Patrol for Legendary Pictures.

The original screenplay by Andrew Hilton was picked up by the production company last year, and has already undergone a re-write by Matt Cirulnick, who scripted the as-yet unproduced, Avebury-themed Stones for Ridley Scott a couple of years ago. Norrington says the supernaturally-tinged World War 2 action thriller contains "hardware, heroes, grime and insane monsters", and therefore presses all his "geek buttons".

Even though we poked ourselves in the eyes like everyone else did, rather than witness the career-derailing unravelment of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, we're still rooting for Norrington here. We've had a lot of time for him since way back in the Death Machine days, and we seriously loved him for Blade. Hopefully this will be the project that gets him back on track - even if it does sound like an extended remix of the first ten minutes of Hellboy.
