Stephen Moyer is usually to be found these days with his fangs buried in some unwilling – or, in the case of Anna Paquin’s Sookie, exceedingly willing – victim on True Blood. But_the actor has also signed on to a pair of films, joining the casts of both **The Double **and **The Big Valley_.

According to the Heat Vision Blog, Double finds Richard Gere and Topher Grace as mismatched CIA partners, one grizzled and retired (Gere), the other fresh-faced and eager (Grace) who must hunt down the man who killed a senator in Washington. Moyer will play a Russian spy, though it’s not known if he’s nabbed the role of Gere’s most notorious old enemy, the prime suspect in the slaying.

Michael Brandt, who co-wrote Wanted with partner Derek Haas, is making the film his directorial debut. He’ll kick off shooting later this month in Detroit.

Once he finished that, Moyer’ll head to Louisiana to shoot The Big Valley, which has been adapted from a 1960s US TV show. The film features Jessica Lange inheriting a role that Barbara Stanwyck played on the series: the matriarch of the Barkley ranching family, living in California in the 1800s.

Moyer is set for the role of Jarrod Barkley, the family lawyer who must battle railroad companies for the rights to the family’s land.

We're guessing that both will have to be slotted in alongside his continuing role as the vampire Bill on True Blood, but we're sure Blighty's finest can handle the pressure of all three roles in a short timeframe.
