Stephanie Szostak, last seen being one of the few normal people (Paul Rudd’s girlfriend, to be exact) in Dinner for Schmucks, has landed the key female role in ghostly comic book adaptation **R.I.P.D.
Ryan Reynolds is at the head of the cast, playing a cop killed in the line of duty who is recruited to join a team of undead officers working for the Rest In Peace Department. Their job is to keep track of rogue spirits. But he has a more personal mission too: find the man who killed him.

Jeff Bridges is playing Reynolds’ grouchy, seen-it-all partner, and Kevin Bacon is aboard as a villain.
This will mark Szostak’s second wifely role in as many films, since she’s playing Katherine Mee in Cameron Crowe’s We Bought a Zoo.
Robert Schwentke (yes, the man looking to tackle historical pic **The Poisoned Kitchen) is in pre-production on the film, which is based on Peter Lenkov’s graphic novel…
