UPDATE: Lucasfilm has actually weighed in on the matter, offering an update to ABC News and calling the report of the Story films hold "inaccurate". There are, according to the company, multiple films still in development outside of the confirmed new works by Rian Johnson and Game Of Thrones duo David Benioff and DB Weiss. So take that as you will...

It's been a while since we've had the chance to break out the Star Wars Rumour Alert Klaxon, but this feels like an appropriate moment. How so? According to Collider's sources, Lucasfilm has decided to pull the space-brakes on further stand-alone films.

Of course, nothing has been officially confirmed on this front by Lucasfilm or Disney, nor would we ever expect it to hence the klaxon leading off the report. But you can certainly see why the relative lack of box office thrust from Solo would be cause for chins to be scratched and plans to be quietly shoved into carbonite.

It appears likely, then, that a planned Obi-Wan movie (which had Stephen Daldry making a deal to direct) and the more recently announced James Mangold-led Boba Fett film will be on indefinite hold while Lucasfilm focuses on the likes of Episode IX (due in December 2019) and future Wars movies, including those being dreamt up by Rian Johnson and Game Of Thrones duo David Benioff and DB Weiss.

Stay tuned to see whether anything is officially said about delays or other movements on the Story front.
