The last time we checked in on the progress of the Star Wars Rogue One spin-off prequel series currently working titled Cassian Andor, it was to report that unused creature designs would likely end up on the show. Now, we have some actual casting news, as Stellan Skarsgård and Kyle Soller are joining the ensemble.

Diego Luna will be back as rebel agent Cassian Andor, joined by Alan Tudyk as reprogrammed Imperial droid/snark machine K-2SO. For obvious reasons, it'll chart their exploits before they meet Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) in Rogue One.

Variety reports that Skarsgård – who has form with Disney after his MCU appearances – and Soller (probably best known for the likes of Poldark and the recent Brexit) – are in final negotiations, and their roles are, of course, a secret for now.

Stephen Schiff is running the show for Disney+, with Rogue One script surgeon and re-shoot overseer Tony Gilroy on board to help out. When the show might start shooting is still up in the air for now, and the Corona-crisis may well impact its planned 2021 launch on the Mouse House's streaming service, but at least things are moving forward in any way they can right now.
