Back in January, we learned that the Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney Plus Star Wars series had hit a bit of a road bump, with news that the team would be finding a new writer to polish the scripts. There's been an update, as Variety reports that King Arthur: Legend Of The Sword's Joby Harold is the person Lucasfilm has picked for the job.
Original writer Hossein Amini left the series earlier this year, with alarm bells ringing despite star Ewan McGregor's assurances that all is well. While everything is shut down because of the coronavirus, and production appears unlikely to start up any time soon, that should allow Harold the space he needs to do the work on the scripts.
Set to chronicle Kenobi's tough times eight years after the events of Revenge Of The Sith, the series was seen as an exciting continuation of his story, but has become something of a concern given these creative challenges. The Mandalorian's Deborah Chow is on board to direct whenever it moves forward.
