Last September, word broke that Kevin Feige, already one of the main players behind the Marvel Cinematic Universe, would cross the Disney aisle to work with Lucasfilm boss Kathleen Kennedy on one of the company's other big universesStar Wars. And, according to Deadline, he's recruiting someone who has already worked on Marvel projects to write it: Michael Waldron.

Head writer and executive producer on the Loki series that is due to hit Disney+ this year, Waldron has also worked on the script for Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness.

Of course, this being a collaboration between Feige and Lucasfilm, there are zero details on what the story might be for the new Star Wars offering, and indeed this is the first time we've heard anything about it since the original announcement – no mention was made of it during the big Disney investor day news last month.

Also in the Deadline report is word that Waldron will be involved in some capacity with a second season of Loki, the first indication that it'll be more than a miniseries. The show will chart what happens after the version of Loki (Tom Hiddleston), who absconded with the Tesseract during the events of Avengers: Endgame.
