Though the actual arrival date for Disney+ based Star Wars-spin-off The Mandalorian is still frustratingly vague in the UK, Stateside audiences will get their first proper look when the streaming service on 12 November, and some fresh footage is online.
With series creator Jon Favreau looking to inject a Western sensibility into that galaxy far, far away, the new show is set after the fall of the Empire, where a period of lawlessness has struck some corners. Government has collapsed and hired gunslingers/bounty hunters like the title character are even more free to ply their trade.
Our central figure is Pedro Pascal's unnamed hunter, and he's not always having an easy time of it – though that comes with the territory.
Gina Carano, Carl Weathers, Nick Nolte (his voice at least, though tell us the alien he's performing for doesn't bear a serious passing resemblance), Giancarlo Esposito and, of all people, Werner Herzog feature in the cast. When will UK viewers get a chance to see it? Hopefully when Disney+ launches next year, or possibly before that. The show will hit the streaming service weekly.
