Though activity in the movie sphere is usually what triggers the Remake Alert for us, there is news from the world of gaming that justifies it – though for once, it's real excitement as opposed to caution. BioWare and LucasArts' RPG Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic has been handed to Aspyr Media, which used Thursday's PlayStation to show off a remade version aimed at the PS5 and PC portals. Watch the showcase trailer to get a taste...

Knights Of The Old Republic debuted in 2003 for the Xbox, followed by PC and mobile releases, becoming a huge, popular hit along the way. Taking place between the Tales Of The Jedi comic and the ancient Galactic Republic, it allowed players' choices to influence the outcome, and offered the opportunity to follow the light or dark side of the force.

More details of the remake – including when it'll actually be released – are forthcoming, with fans hoping for more lightsaber action than the original offered. For now, enjoy the footage, featuring hissable baddie Darth Revan.

In related gaming news, Insomniac Games, the team behind Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales revealed trailer for two new games, one continuing the adventures of both web-slingers in Spider-Man 2 and another focused on favourite mutant Wolverine.

The new Spidey game will arrive in 2023 and features Tony Todd as the voice of slavering symbiote Venom.

Wolverine, meanwhile, is in very early development by Spider-Man creative director Brian Horton and game director Cameron Christian. We don't yet know when it'll arrive, but our adamantium claws are crossed it won't be too long, bub.
