You might think that Kevin Feige had enough on his hands with, you know, the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe. He doesn't seem to agree, as The Hollywood Reporter has heard from Disney co-chairman Alan Horn that he'll develop a Star Wars film for Lucasfilm alongside Kathleen Kennedy.
"We are excited about the projects Kathy and the Lucasfilm team are working on, not only in terms of Star Wars but also Indiana Jones and reaching into other parts of the company including Children of Blood and Bone with Emma Watts and Fox," Horn says. "With the close of the Skywalker Saga, Kathy is pursuing a new era in Star Wars storytelling, and knowing what a die-hard fan Kevin is, it made sense for these two extraordinary producers to work on a Star Wars film together."
Feige, of course, has set up Marvel to such a degree that he could conceivably step back a little to give a Star Wars film his attention, and it's not as though he'd be the one writing or directing the actual film, with Kennedy sharing producer duties.
According to THR, Feige has already told a big-name actor that there will be a role for them to play if and when this development turns into an actual movie. There's also speculation in the story as to whether this means Disney is quietly positioning Feige to take over at Lucasfilm, but we'd be surprised if Kennedy goes anywhere, even with the recent issues in the Star Wars galaxy, including production issues on Rogue One and Solo, with the latter losing money at the box office.
Either way, Feige continues to demonstrate that his own true super power is time management..
