Following a 50th anniversary fan event celebrated on the Paramount Pictures lot, which included a Q&A with director Justin Lin and stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto and Karl Urban, the studio released the following trailer for Star Trek Beyond.
Unlike the teaser released several months ago, which went for fast-cutting action to a Beastie Boys soundtrack, this trailer is a bit more thoughtful, feeling a little more in line with Star Trek than Guardians Of The Galaxy (an obvious influence on the last trailer).
And the additional footage shown at the fan event also showcased some of the film's more reflective moments, charting how the crew is coping with the middle of the five-year mission, a moment for Kirk and Bones that calls back to Star Trek II (without the blatant magpie feeling that ran through Into Darkness) and some big action beats as the poor old Enterprise takes a real beating.
Star Trek Beyond reaches UK and US cinemas on July 22.
