A Star is Born

Roddy’s Doyle’s latest book – the epic historical novel A Star Called Henry is due to be made in a movie. Doyle himself will adapt the book for the big screen while Michael Winterbottom is slated to direct. As with The Barrytown Trilogy which gave us The Van, The Snapper and The Commitments, A Star Called Henry is the first of a new trilogy for Doyle. It tells the story of a young boy who grows up to become a republican legend – linked to the Irish rebel leader Michael Collins.
