Japanese horror god Hideo Nakata is lining up yet another tale to chill the blood in your veins and have grown men and women screaming for mercy before diving behind the couch in abject terror. With his Hollywood remake of his own Japanese scarefest The Ring 2 almost upon us, Nakata has agreed to adapt Chinese frightener The Eye for western... er, eyes. Originally directed by the almighty Pang brothers, The Eye (or Jian Gui, if you prefer) is the touching story of a blind girl who is given the opportunity to have a cornea transplant that lets her see again. The end. Oh, actually, we forgot, this particular cornea just happens to let her see the dead walking among us and not all of them are all that happy to be seen - Haley Joel Osment has no idea how easy he had it. A second Eye film has already been released courtesy of the Pangs, with a third currently on the way, so this could be the start of a very lucrative franchise for the studio suits in Hollywood.
