Roger Spottiswoode has found the man to play General Romeo Dallaire in the adaptation of Dallaire’s memoir Shake Hands With The Devil, about his experiences during the Rwandan genocide.

Canadian actor Roy Dupuis, last seen on British screens in The Barbarian Invasions, will star in the film, which sees Dallaire as the commander of the peace-keeping force that couldn’t stop the slaughter of 800,000 Rwandans.

Spottiswoode will kick off shooting in June in Kigali, Rwanda.
