Hollywood is getting all excited at the red hot rumour that Steven Spielberg and Tom Cruise, after wanting to make a movie together for many years, have finally shaken hands on a deal to do so - although nobody knows exactly what the film might be. The box-office potential is so exciting that people are practically walking about in rubber underwear until they can find out. Since Spielberg's next project is already lined up - Memoirs of a Geisha, about a 9-year-old Japanese girl who is sold to a geisha house - it looks like it won't be until next summer before the dream team can get together. Best guesses at the moment come down to one of two projects: the first is an adaptation of Nicholas Sparks' bestselling novel The Notebook, a bittersweet love story told in flashbacks by an old man to his Alzheimer's suffering wife in a nursing home. The other option is slightly more Cruise-like - Lindbergh, a biopic of the leathery helmetted aviator that Spielberg has already expressed an interest in directing some time in the future.
