Given all the recent chatter about Venom, you'd be forgiven for forgetting that there are other Spider-Man spin-off movies in the works. But to jog your memory comes news of a fresh writer (actually two) for Silver & Black, which will now see work from Chaos Walking's Lindsey Beer and Tomb Raider's Geneva Robertson-Dworet.
The movie itself will see a team-up between Silver Sable (a mercenary who hunts war criminals) and Black Cat, the daughter of a famous cat burglar who follows in his footsteps while mastering any number of acrobatic skills and fighting styles. Gina Prince-Bythewood, who wrote and directed Beyond The Lights, is in the director's chair, and took the previous crack at the screenplay. Other writers who have seen the story (still a mystery at this point) pass through their keyboards include Thor: Ragnarok's Chris Yost and Westworld co-creator Lisa Joy.
Both the newcomers have plenty of geeky credits on their CVs, with Beer having been part of the Transformers and other writers' rooms, and currently assigned to write The Kingkiller Chronicle movie. Robertson-Dworet, meanwhile, worked on the latest Dungeons And Dragons movie still in development and contributed to the script for Captain Marvel, due next year. Silver & Black, meanwhile, should also be out in 2019 for Sony.
