Live-action shoots might be tip-toeing back towards production, with a raft of safety procedures and other issues to confront in this Covid-infected world. But animated films are in a slightly different position, since they can be recorded, made and edited remotely if you have the right tech. And so it is with the sequel to Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, with lead animator Nick Kondo reporting on Twitter that the film's team is kicking off work.

While we're not usually in the habit of reporting that movies have started shooting, the Spider-Verse sequel feels like more cause for celebration; a sign that work is getting back into gear and that we're going to see more from the Oscar-winning spider-venture.

What we don't yet know is what the plot features, as director Joaquim Dos Santos and writer Dave Callaham have yet to reveal anything. Phil Lord and Chris Miller are still on as producers and we're hoping for another winner.

Whatever it ends up being called (Spider-Man: Back Into The Spider-Verse?), the film is scheduled to land on screens in October 2022. And in retweeting Kondo, Lord also had the chance to post a list of job opportunities on the film, so those who are based in the States looking to work on that movie and others, headed to the link below.
