Spider-Man: Homecoming

One of the joys of Spider-Man: Homecoming was the fact that Tom Holland’s web-slinger was truly a friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man — but it seems Peter Parker will be traveling further afield than Washington in the sequel. We already know that Spidey’s next solo outing will be the first film in Phase 4 of the MCU in the wake of Avengers 4, and it sounds like the world-changing events of Thanos' Earth-bound mission will propel Peter into new locations.

Speaking to io9, MCU overlord Kevin Feige said that the next Spider-Man will shoot in London, and will see the young hero travel around the world. “We start filming early July,” he said. “We film in London. We shot [the] first film in Atlanta. And we shoot a lot of films in London but there’s another reason we’re shooting in London which is, yes, Spidey, of course, will spend some time in New York, but he’ll spend some time in other parts of the globe.”

Avengers: Infinity War is a matter of days away, so there’s not long to wait and see how Spider-Man will make use of that shiny-looking Iron Spider armour made for him by Tony Stark. Spider-Man’s solo sequel is pencilled in for release on 5 July 2019.
