The world might be readying for Avengers: Endgame right now, but exciting advances are afoot in Marvel’s third and final film of 2019. Two months after we all find out exactly how Captain America, Iron Man and co take down Thanos, Tom Holland’s Peter Parker will (somehow) be back in Spider-Man: Far From Home, the sequel to 2017’s Homecoming. The good news is, the film’s release date has shifted forward so fans can see it three days earlier than expected. The former 5 July date is gone, with a new UK release of Tuesday 2 July. Adjust your calendars accordingly.

Far From Home will send Parker and pals – including Zendaya’s MJ, Jacob Batalon’s Ned, and Tony Revelori’s bully Flash – on a European school holiday, venturing around Venice, London, and Prague. But along the way, Elemental attacks start happening, with Jake Gyllenhaal’s Quentin Beck, aka Mysterio, cropping up to stop them. Throw Nick Fury into the mix, and Peter Parker simply can’t catch a break.

The big question – how do you solve a problem like being turned into a pile of dust? – will remain until we’ve all seen Endgame, but at least now we know the wait for Far From Home won’t be quite so far away.
