We're big fans of Buried around here, so there's a certain amount of anticipation for Rodrigo Cortes' next film. It's had a mixed reception from those who've seen it so far, but for the rest of us, there's now this international trailer for the dark thriller **Red Lights to clue us in on what to expect.
At the very least, it's amusing to see Sigourney Weaver, Robert De Niro and Cillian Murphy dubbed into Spanish.
What's going on? Well, De Niro is a world-renowned celebrity medium who's mysteriously come out of retirement, 30 years after apparently abandoning seances. Weaver and Murphy are psychologists investigating the paranormal. Their enquiries lead them to De Niro, whose supernatural credentials they believe to be dubious. And Elizabeth Olsen is also on-hand as Weaver's assistant.
Shades of previous spooky thrillers make this seem a bit familiar - we're sure we've seen that car-abruptly-stopping-for-creepy-woman-with-trolly shot loads of times before - but oddly, it seems to have the distinct look of** Buried** about its colour palette, even though Buried took place entirely inside a coffin.
Millennium have just picked this up for distribution at Sundance, so expect English-language trailers and some release dates before too long.
